Day 3: Do you know the day you concieved?
Yes.
It was March 14th and I had run a 5k race that morning. After Matt and I were supposed to head to Appleton for a family gathering.
We came home from the race and Matt started to pack the car while I showered up. In the shower I realized the timing because we were trying to get pregnant. With staying at his sister’s house that night - there would be no other chance for sexy time.

Walgreens knows me better than my man
Because Walgreens just called to tell me they have another month’s supply of birth control ready and waiting for me.
My man did not even know it was going to be necessary.

But Audrey was up an hour later than normal last night and it’s taking it’s toll on her today. She’s having a harder time napping because she is so overtired (seriously, I know - kids make no sense). She’s been up in her crib crabbing and rolling around for 30 minutes now, but I know she is exhausted.

So we’ve developed a new habit of watching TV for about 15 minutes every night before we go upstairs to read for bedtime. She gets out of her bath and bounces around kinda watching the TV and getting in any last play time that she can. So today I was informed that I am racist.
Because I am white.
That was the only qualifier. I was informed that nothing else matters.
My co-workers look at me and see a white woman. They look at me and see a “white, racist woman”.

Why does my child always fall down and hit her head 10 minutes before bed? I mean, I watch for the crazy-eyes and puking - but how can one really tell if she is concussed? My only answer is to worry about it.

In ways that life has failed me today
Two hour staff meeting tonight that was anything but productive for me meant that I had 20 minutes at home to shove leftover chinese in m’belly and precious few moments to spend with m’girl before yoga class.

Seeing it differently
