To be fair
some of those car rides I took as a child sucked the big one. My brother and I would fight, my Dad would yell and those moments when we were “alone in silence with our thoughts and imagination” - my Mom had most likely just threatened us to within an inch of our lives and demanded that we ride in silence so she wouldn’t make good on the threat.
But I also feel like all of that is a learning process that should be part of growing up.
